High School Diploma
We moved to a new location! Come and visit us at 730 I Street in Downtown Anchorage!
Nine Star Education & Employment Services, in cooperation with the Nenana City Public School District and the Cyber Lynx Statewide Correspondence Program, offers area youth the opportunity to complete a high school education. The High School Completion Program is a unique program of choice available at no cost to youth nineteen years of age or younger who seek to graduate with an Alaska public high school diploma.
The Nine Star program operates year-round to give students the opportunity to complete coursework at any time. Students may work at an accelerated pace in courses of their own choosing as they accumulate credits toward a diploma and develop the skills necessary to succeed beyond high school. Attendance requirements are flexible, will vary by student, and are based on individual student needs. Students enroll for the entire school year.
Students attend school a minimum of ten hours each week, meet with their academic coach at least once each week, develop short-term and long-term objectives, complete a minimum of one credit per quarter, and participate in state-wide exams when applicable.
Nine Star provides a safe and productive working environment, works with each student to develop an individualized course schedule, offers one-on-one tutoring in all content areas, assist students in setting short-term goals and long-term objectives, schedules preparation and tutorials for HS Graduation Qualifying Exams, and offers post-secondary counseling.
