Senior Employment
Mature Alaskans Seeking Skills Training
The MASST program assists seniors with developing marketable job skills. It is an opportunity to earn extra income while receiving part-time job site or educational training. It also offers basic computer training and a workshop to develop job search skills. Seniors receive an hourly wage while in the training program.
The program matches up seniors with local nonprofit or public service agencies, while focusing on the development of participants' resume writing skills, computer, and language skills. After training, Nine Star helps participants get regular jobs.
Even 93 isn't too old! Read an Anchorage Daily News article on Francena Salvage, one of the MASST participants who recently became an employee at RSVP, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program under the group, Volunteers of America Alaska.
