Nine Star SES Frequently Asked Questions
SES is a great service to children who need special help in improving reading and math skills, but it is a great service to parents, too! Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions about the Nine Star SES Program. A full list of SES FAQs can be accessed with the Anchorage School District site.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?*
* Please note that ASD enrollment and eligibility criteria may vary slightly. If your child does not qualify under the Nine Star SES program, he or she may qualify for services through the Anchorage School District.
Students who are enrolled in designated schools in the Anchorage School District.
Students in Kindergarten through the Eighth grade are Eligible for Nine Star SES Services. Contact ASD for free services offered to additional age groups.
Students who are eligible for free and reduced lunches.
WHAT IF MY CHILD IS NOT ELIGIBLE?
Parents may be able to make arrangements to have their child(ren) tutored for a fee.

WHEN WILL THE TUTORING TAKE PLACE?
Twice per week.
Right after school.
As an added bonus, our students can logon to Achieve3000 and SBA Achiever anywhere they have internet access.
WHERE WILL NINE STAR ACHIEVERS BE TUTORED?
Tutoring may take place at your child(ren)’s school, depending on the number of students who enroll.
Tutoring sessions at your child’s school also depends on whether or not ASD allows Nine Star to rent space after school.
Tutoring may take place at a Nine Star site off school grounds.
WILL NINE STAR PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION FOR MY CHILD(REN)?
NO. We’re sorry, but Nine Star’s company policy forbids employees to transport clients. This includes students.
Parents will be responsible for transportation.
